A little about me
Hi, I’m Patricia — a Polish-born newborn and family photographer, a mum, and the person behind Patricia Virk Photography. For over 8 years, I’ve created beautifully styled, heartfelt portraits that help families preserve the moments they never want to forget.
Based in East London, I specialise in beautifully styled newborn photography in the comfort of your own home. I bring everything needed for your baby's session, including carefully selected props, outfits and professional equipment, creating a relaxed and comfortable experience for the whole family. I proudly photograph families across Redbridge, Havering, Romford and surrounding areas.
Alongside my photography business, I’m also studying Cyber Security in London. I have a real passion for computer networks and security, and I’m a huge animal lover too! I suppose you could say I have quite a mix of interests.
I’ve always known I wanted to build something of my own. Photography has fascinated me for as long as I can remember, especially the way a beautiful image can change how someone sees and feels about themselves.
Over the past 8 years, I’ve developed my own style as a newborn and family photographer, but what I love most about this work goes far beyond taking photographs.
It’s knowing that I’m creating something that will truly matter to someone.
The photographs I take become part of a family’s story. They’re framed on walls, shared with grandparents and loved ones, and treasured as children grow. One day, those same photographs might be shown to the next generation. I find that incredibly special.
One of my favourite parts of being a photographer is meeting so many different families. No two sessions are ever the same, and I genuinely love getting to know the people in front of my camera.
I especially love photographing new mums. I know how easy it is to feel a little unsure of yourself after having a baby, and how uncomfortable being photographed can sometimes feel. Being able to gently guide a mum through her portraits and then see her reaction to the finished photographs is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Some of my happiest moments are when clients send me pictures of their photographs proudly displayed in their homes. Or when a family I photographed years ago gets back in touch because they’re expecting their second or third baby.
Those moments mean so much to me. They remind me that I’ve created more than just beautiful images — I’ve created something that has a lasting place in someone’s life.
And that’s exactly why I love what I do.
